This 1973 Maserati Bora 4.9 was supplied from new in Miami, the United States. It has a Rosso Fuoco finish. A few years ago this Maserati Bora underwent a complete restoration, and that shows! Both bodywork and chassis are in top quality condition. The panel work is nice and thin and all the bright work fits perfectly and is in good shape. The respray was done very well and remains in good condition. The paintwork and stainless steel roof contrast nicely. The interior has been fully refurbished with light coloured carpets and supple Connolly leather in Maserati Avorio. That typical 70s flair just oozes out of the seats. Naturally, the correct Campagnolo wheels with their stainless steel centre form part of the cars make-up, fully in line with the window frames and stainless steel roof.
To comply with stricter US exhaust norms, Maserati decided to increase the bore from 4.7 litres to 4.9 litres. The engine supplies 320 Ps at 5, 500 revs and 454 Nm of torque at 4, 000 revs. The very well maintained engine runs fantastically. The V8 is attached to a manual 5-speed ZF gearbox.
The Maserati Bora is a proper Grand Tourer, a car to stylishly, speedily and in all comfort cover large distances. The adjustable steering column and pedal box allow one to always select the right driving position. The seats and its road-holding are both superbly comfortable, there is loads of luggage space and there is no worry if you need to get anywhere in a hurry. With a top of 285 km/hr, this cars performance is still very impressive even by today's standards.
