Boasting a single-overhead-camshaft engine with chain drive to the cams (a first for a Mondial roadster) the firms new 175cc model debuted at the 1954 Milan Show in Turismo Veloce and Sport versions, the latter being replaced by the Gran Sport in 1958. chief mechanic Nerio Biavati, who replaced the standard valves and other parts at the behest of Giancarlo Rossetti, owner of OFMER (Officine Meccaniche Rossetti), a manufacturer of fishing reels. The machine was purchased at an auction in 1990.
